The chin sits on the knee; the fingers are becoming entangled in the toes. The fingers lift one foot in the air after another. The folded woman is unsteady and her bottom is swaying over the stage. Next to her, a similar creature tries as much as it can to reproduce the same movement. They roll on their backs, they sometimes shove one another and they climb on each other.
In the dance performance »Headwalker«, a fantasy world is created thanks to an interaction of music, movement, dance and technical contacts specifically adapted to modelling clay. This word has its own period of time, its own sounds and its own form. The actions continuously dissolve themselves in order to create a musical and colourful whirl. There is always something happening, but the tempo overpowers nothing…
»Headwalker« is a mix between dance movements, pictures and music, all of it being in the perspective of discovery and pleasure. At the end of the play, the audience is invited to come on stage and play as they wish with the modelling clay!
The premiere of »Headwalker« took place on 26 September 2010 at tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf.

In the third and last part of the series »Der empathische Körper« (the empathic body), Silke Z. and die metabolisten put themselves and their audience to the test: They test the limits of empathy and throw themselves into absurd situations on stage, which resembles an arena, in order to win the favour of the audience.
The live sounds of sound designer Sarah Procissi and songwriter Nikolaj Grunwald drive the performers into an extreme display of their supposed individuality and uniqueness. What at the beginning seems like a “normal” casting show disassembles itself over time and at the same time pushes the machinery of show business to the extreme.
Die metabolisten challenge the audience to leave their comfort zone of anonymity and present them with a choice over and over again – it’s YOUR CHOICE!

Dancing plates, a hiccup that moves to the foot, chatty dishes, a delicate egg dance. In the “eating concert” MUNCH!, together with the audience, we swallow, smell, enjoy, consume, nibble, listen and digest. An experimental and respectful approach to food and drink becomes a sensory experience of a special kind.

What makes us humans different from the trees in a forest? Can trees hear us? Do trees have feelings? “I am a tree” is an artificial experience of nature in which children become co-creators. The performance invites them to think together about nature and its functions. How do we live in nature, how do we imitate processes from nature? What would it be like to be a tree, an ocean or an insect? And what is it actually like to be a plastic flower?
