Dance ALL IN x Sharing Across Borders Edition 3

SOMATATI | Vo’arte, CiM Dance Company (Portugal)

SOMATATI is a performance that transcends boundaries and embraces inclusion. Presented by CiM Dance Company, this production features a cast of performers with and without disabilities. A sense of unity and belonging is nurtured within the community. Four characters come to life and embark on a profound journey of discovery that leads them to the question: What are superpowers actually? Through the art of dance, ideas merge into an emotional fabric that connects the past, present and future.

Vo’Arte (Portugal)

Vo’Arte was born from the desire to produce, disseminate and promote contemporary creation, based on the fusion of artistic expressions and the development of national and international projects that support exchange and transdisciplinary creation. Vo’Arte is an innovative project that promotes creative dialogue and cultural decentralisation to strengthen relationships between communities and cultures and open up new audiences. Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2023 with artistic, educational and social activities, Vo’Arte believes in the value of artistic culture and continues to create new performances, festivals, exhibitions, installations, films, seminars and programme proposals that connect both established artists and emerging creatives. It produces CiM – Dance Company, which includes performers with and without disabilities and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017!

Vo’Arte was awarded an Honourable Mention by BPI CAPACITAR in 2016, the National Cultural Access Award for Intellectual Accessibility by Acesso Cultura in 2015 and the National Inclusion Award in the Culture, Sport and Leisure category in 2014 for the work developed over the last 20 years in the areas of creation, programming, training and inclusion.

CiM Dance Company (Portugal)

The Portuguese CiM Dance Company follows the pioneering approach of artistic creation in the spirit of inclusion through dance and image. The company develops a regular training and sensitisation that focuses on the movement specificities and unique expressiveness of each dancer/performer, promoting through choreography a vision of the idea of capacity and limits that reveals diversity as a driving force.
